Plants erect and spreading, rarely decumbent, much branched to form dense shrubs with branches up to 50 mm in diameter and with peeling bark (rarely somewhat flaking on younger branches). Leaves linear-lanceolate, broadest towards base, 8-20 mm long, up to 1.5 mm broad, usually almost terete. Calyx 1.5-2 mm long or about half as long as corolla. From: Toelken, HR. 1985. Crassulaceae. Shrub. Stems erect or spreading, much branched, up to 0.4 m high; hair-like papillae on young branches, older ones with bark peeling. Leaves fleshy; old leaves deciduous with leaf sheaths; blade narrowly linear-ovate, 8-20 mm long, up to 1.5 mm broad, apex acute, dorsiventrally flattened to terete. Flowers: in a dense thyrse with 1-several dichasia; 5-merous; anthers brown; calyx lobes bluntly acute; corolla tubular, lobes oblong to narrowly oblong-obovate, 3-5 mm long, apices acute, recurved, usually with a dorsal ridge, white fading to cream-coloured; Jan.-Apr.
