Corolla tube 23-32 mm long, 12-13 mm in diameter, white to yellow; limb yellow; lobes 13-15 mm long, 11-13 mm wide. Stigma 2-3 mm in diameter, globose. From: Randle, CP. 2006. Revision of Harveya (Orobanchaceae) of Southern Africa. Syst. Bot. Monogr. 80: 1-74. [https://www.jstor.org/stable/25027958] [All rights reserved]
The blight yellow or white flowers H. purpurea subsp. sulphurea are distinctive; however, pressed material is indistinguishable from most specimens of subsp. purpurea, if corolla color is not recorded on the specimen label. Fortunately, these two subspecies have only a small zone of overlap. Subspecies sulphurea is rarely collected, perhaps due to its limited distribution. From: Randle, CP. 2006. Revision of Harveya (Orobanchaceae) of Southern Africa. Syst. Bot. Monogr. 80: 1-74. [https://www.jstor.org/stable/25027958] [All rights reserved]
