Description :

  • Terrestrial herbs up to 0.4 m tall, with root tubers
  • Leaves linear, cauline
  • Inflorescence a short raceme; bracts lanceolate; flowers not resupinate, almost regular, pink or purple
  • Sepals subequal, free, spreading
  • Petals similar to sepals but slightly smaller
  • Lip similar to sepals, simple or with minute basal side lobes, spurless
  • Gynostemium with elongate column-part; anther thecae pendent, anther canals absent; pollinia 2, sectile, attached to separate viscidia
  • Capsule cylindrical or ellipsoid
