Description :

  • This genus differs from Ipomoea as follows:
    • Stamens arising on triangular, large (2 mm long) glandular-pilose scales situated near base of corolla tube
    • Ovary with a very short beak persistent in fruit
    • Style articulated at base, caducous
    • Fruit indehiscent, ± woody
