  • Female flowers: sepals and petals as in male; disc annular, thick, villous; ovary globose, 2- or 3-locular, with 2 ovules in each locule, tomentose externally and internally; styles bifid
  • Fruit a capsule breaking up into 2-valved cocci
  • Seeds subglobose or hemispherical, smooth or slightly wrinkled
