Aufrechte, mehrjährige, bis 30 cm hohe, höchstens basal schwach verholzte Pflanze, im unteren Teil meist reicher verzweigt. Stengel im beblätterten Teil dicht weiss abstehend borsthaarig. Blätter bis auf kleine Hochblätter gegenständig, bis 40 x 8 mm, lanzettlich bis schwach obovat, graugrün, ± dicht lang borstenhaarig, einnervig, Rand nach unten schwach umgerollt. Köpfchen relativ gross, an langen (-14 cm), weitgehend hochblattfreien Pedunkeln, diese besonders oben langhaarig oder drüsig. Involucrum 2-reihig, bis 1.5 cm im Durchmesser. Hüllschuppen 5 x 1 mm (aussen), 5 x 1.5 mm (innen), lanzettlich, einnervig; die inneren trockenrandig. Ca. 25 Zungenblüten. Ligula bis 20 x 3.5 mm, weiss-elfenbein. Scheibenblüten zahlreich, Krone 5 mm lang, gelb. Pappusborsten zahlreich, abfallend, bis 5 mm lang, weiss, schwach gezähnt. Perennial herb, up to 300 mm tall, branches with dense, spreading, white hairs. Leaves opposite, lanceolate to obovate, with long, spreading hairs. Flowerheads radiate, relatively large, on peduncles with long, spreading hairs or glandular-pubescent; involucral bracts in 2 equally long rows; ray florets ivory-white; disc florets yellow. Diffuse, villous annual to 35 cm. Leaves narrowly lanceolate, margins revolute, sometimes slightly toothed. Flower heads radiate, solitary, yellow with white rays. Zweifellos bestehen Beziehungen zu F. elongata, von der sie sich jedoch durch deutliche konstante Merkmale unterscheidet. Es sind dies die elfenbeinfarbenen Zungenblüten, die in allen Einzelheiten kleineren Köpfchen, die kleineren Achänen und die stärkere Behaarung. From: Grau, HRJ. 1973.
