Branches whorled, slender, erect, glabrous, knotty with leaf scars, cuticle thin. Branchlets not hidden by the leaves. Leaves 2.4-3.3 cm long, 1 mm diam., glabrous, incurved-erect, terete with a shallow groove on the adaxial surface, apex mucronate. Involucral leaves similar, not crowded. Male in florescence 9 mm long, 10 mm diam., solitary, terminal, globose. Basal bracts 3-3.7 mm long, 1-1.3 mm broad, few in number, lanceolate, acute, glabrous, short-ciliate below. Floral bract 2.5 mm long, 0.8 mm broad, narrowly deltoid, acute, densely pubescent except at the apex. Floral bud 4.8 mm long, apex clavate, glabrous, surrounded below by a tuft of hairs. Perianth tube 2 mm long, glabrous. Claw 1.5 mm long, glabrous. Limb 1.5 mm long, linear, hooked, glabrous. Anther 1.3 mm long. Pollen triangular in polar view with sides 34-37 µ, polar depth 19 µ. Stigma abortive 1.3 mm long, clavate, entire. Style 3 mm long, glabrous, narrower above. Hypogynous scales 1 mm long. Female inflorescence not seen. From: Williams, IJM. 1972. L. comosum subsp.homaeophyllum differs from the typical subspecies in having all the leaves, even the uppermost, terete, never broadened, and in having the floral bract in the male flower densely pubescent not glabrous.
