Perennial, caespitose, dwarf shrublet, up to 0.03 m high, roots thickened, tapering. Leaves tapering gradually from a broad base towards pointed apex, not keeled, epidermis with dark green tannin cells. Flowers solitary, yellow. Flowering time May-Aug.
