Morphological description

Perennial, dwarf shrublet, up to 0.1 m high, with tuberous rootstock, stems prostrate to erect. Leaves subcylindrical, narrowed toward apex; bladder cells domed, basally obtuse with an apical papilla, diadem comprising of inclined dark brown bristles without cup-cells. Flowers solitary, white to pale pink with darker apex. Flowering time May. Capsules 5-locular, covering membranes incomplete. From: Burgoyne, PM; Bredenkamp, CL. 2019. Leaves with an apical diadem of coloured, sclerotinized bristles. Erect shrublet to 10 cm, with thickened roots, branches with papillate internodes. Leaves erect, glaucous, densely papillate, with a diadem, 10-14 x 5 mm. Flowers on pedicels to 6 mm long, pale pink becoming darker towards tips, with filamentous staminodes. Fruits 5-locular.
