Bulb small, 3 to 5 cm, ovoid. Leaves green ovate, 8 to 15 cm long x 3 cm wide. Peduncle green, 10 to 20 cm. Pedicels absent (flower sunken into the scape). Perianth green, filaments and anthers green, capsule green. Coma of short ovate bracts. The leaves of this species are noticeably ridged along the leaf veins; the surface of the leaf is rough and the leaf margins are minutely indented. From: Compton, JA. 1990. Eucomis L'Heritier.
