Morphological description

Erect, branched shrub 60-90 cm tall. Branches patent or curved patent, sericeous, later glabrous; upper part densely leafy. Leaves flattish, spreading at an angle of 45°, ovate-lanceolate, apiculate, 6.5-17.0 x 2.1-5.0 mm, densely greyish sericeous on both sides. Inflorescences unifloral, aggregated in many-flowered, terminal, semi-globose capitula. Corolla pale violet and purple. Bract linear, apiculate, 2.8-5.0 x 0.3-0.4 mm, sericeous on both sides. Calyx sericeous-villous, 5.3-8.5 mm; calyx lobes linear-lanceolate, apiculate; upper lobes medially connate to 1.2-2.0 mm from their apices, lower lobes 3.2-5.5 mm. Vexillum lamina 6.0-7.5 x 3.5-4.7 mm, oblong, obtuse, emarginate; base sub-hastate or auriculate; claw 2.7-3.3 mm. Ala blades pale violet, obliquely oblong, 5.5-7.5 x 1.8-2.3 mm, obtuse, base sub-auriculate; claws 3.0-3.2 mm. Carina blades dark violet brown, cymbiform, 4.0-4.7 x 1.8-2.1 mm, obtuse and with a basal, small bulge; claws 3.0-3.5 mm. Stamens 6.0-7.5 mm; staminal tube 3.5-4.8 mm; anthers 0.3-0.6 mm. Pistil 6.5-7.2 mm; ovary sericeous-villous, uni-ovulate; style filiform, upper part glabrous, lower villous, apex incurved.
