Diagnostic description

The year after Harvey's figure appeared, the species was illustrated in colour in the Botanical Magazine from plants collected by Cooper and sent to Mr. W. Wilson Saunders, who grew them in England. A good figure of the species is also given in Engler's Pflanzenreich. The species belongs to a section of the genus characterised by having a large tuber. From: Phillips, EP; Letty, CL. 1937.
