Morphological description

Young branches sericeous, hairs downward-directed, appressed, occasionally some hairs ± spreading. From: Vollesen, KB. 1989. A revision of Megalochlamys and Ecbolium (Acanthaceae: Justicieae). Kew Bull. 44(4): 601-680. [All rights reserved]

Shrub, up to 1 m high. Hairs on young branches appressed. Spikes up to 150 mm long. Bracts with capitate glands 0.5-1.0 mm long and 1-2 mm long acumen; clasping ripening capsules.
