Annual to 32 cm. Leaves obovate to elliptic, sinuate to pinnatisect. Flowers axillary, 2-spurred, reddish or white with deep magenta centre and a large and small, yellow spot below each upper lobe, limb 9-19 mm long, spurs turned upwards or projecting downwards, short or long, 4-18 mm.
