Morphological description

Branches rarely with recurved spines, spines usually reduced or absent, covered with appressed hairs when young, becoming glabrous; leaves alternate; lamina lanceolate, acuminate, cuneate at the base, with appressed hairs, becoming glabrous, often shiny; petiole (0.6-)0.8-2 cm long; inflorescence of axillary racemes or panicles with straight, slender peduncles; sepals 3-4 mm long, glabrous or almost so; stamens 7 or 8.
