Morphological description

Compact, to 7 cm high, to 10 cm Ø; leaves anisophyllous: one deeply divided, the other with a pronounced hump on the keel, smooth or with somewhat raised dots, to 50 mm long, 3-10 mm Ø; flowers in cymes, raised well above the plant, bracteoles acuminate, with golden petals, the outer reddish outside; fruit closing bodies only visible as two adjacent, distinct, round areas, the covering membranes pressing against them with the bases of their distal rims which lack a ledge below, valve wings narrow and tapering towards tips and bases, but broader than those of other species. Perennial, dwarf shrublet, up to 0.15 m high, forming compact, rounded clumps. Leaves subglobose, ovate to oblong-ovate, older leaves deciduous, finely tuberculate with rough white dots.
