A silvery-gray woody shrublet, 20-50 cm high, erect or sprawling. Branches distant, in groups of 2 or 3, ascending or divaricate. Leaves covering the stems, overlapping, oblong-linear, 2-4 mm long, acute, usually bent outwards at the tips. Stipules membranous, lacerate, longer than and partly covering the leaves. Flowers sessile, numerous; bracts 3-fid, 4 mm or more wide at the base, the central lobe linear 2 mm long, acute, more or less recurved and soon deciduous, the lateral lobes shorter, 1 mm long; stipules large, like those of the leaves. Bracteoles small, green, ovate, subacute. Perianth shorter than the bracts, the segments 4, hairy on the back, membranous and lacerate at the tip.
