Morphological description

Tuberous geophyte to 14 cm. Leaves entire to pinnate, to 5 x 3.5 cm. Flowers to 9 on branching peduncles, ± 30 mm diam., white, subsessile; hypanthium 12-22 mm long. From: Vorster, PJ. 2012. Acaulescent geophyte, 0.06-0.14 m high. Leaves simple; lamina 15-50 mm long, irregularly pinnatisect, margins irregularly serrate to deeply incised; sparsely hirsute, abaxially with long glandular hairs, margins with long appressed stiff hairs; petioles up to 50 mm long. Stipules subulate. Inflorescence branched, each pseudo-umbel 5-9-flowered. Hypanthium 12-22 mm long. Sepals 5, lanceolate. Petals 5, white, spathulate; posterior 2 with red markings or without, 23-24 x 4-6 mm; anterior 3 slightly smaller. Fertile stamens 5. Flowering time Oct.-Dec.
