Of medium size-small, olivaceous brown, rigid, on soil or bark. Stem to 5 cm long, with sparce capillaceous stolons, simple or with 2-3 branches, wiry. Leaves 2-4 mm long, symmetric, sometimes secund, imbricate, deeply bilobed, lobes erecto-patent, lanceolate, sinus + acute, no basal teeth. Basal disc subrectangular, 0.8 mm long and 0.6 mm broad, vitta basalis short, 0.2mm long, then dividing in a band of elongated cells for each of the lobes, reaching to about the half length of the lobe. Cells in the vitta about 18 x 45 µ, walls thick, cells in the wings of the lobe about 18 µ, with nodulose trigones. Amphigastria of the same shape as the leaves but not secund.
