Morphological description

Perennial shrublet with prominent leafy heads, up to 0.3 m high, thin taproot. Leaves opposite, linear, smooth, up to 170 mm long, apex acute, basal; deciduous. Flowers solitary, pale yellow, up to 60 mm in diam. Flowering time Sept.-Dec. Capsules xerochastic, expanding tissue absent, seed pockets breaking up as schizocarps containing seeds, dispersed as tumble fruits. From: Burgoyne, PM; Bredenkamp, CL. 2019.
