Morphological description

Shrub or tree, up to 10 m high. Leaves elliptic to subovate-elliptic or oblong, lower surface persistently pilose to tomentose, petioles 5-6 mm long. Ovary sparsely pilose to glabrous at anthesis; styles glabrous at base. Capsule loosely and shortly pilose. Flowers whitish yellow; appearing before leaves. From: Retief, E; Herman, PPJ. 1997.
