Dwarf shrub, 50-300(-600) mm high; prostrate or with stem tips ascending, much branched, ± glabrous, branches woody to wiry. Leaves alternate, oval or oblong to obovate with short petioles, entire. Flowers single, axillary, longer than leaves. Calyx 5-partite. Corolla as above but narrow basal part of tube hardly exserted from calyx; deep blue or violet, or mauve with white stripes on lower lip. Anthers short-ciliate or ± glabrous.
