Plants erect, 150-400 mm tall; leaves distant, not petiolate, lower with a patent, slightly cordate, elliptic, obtuse to acute and finely mucronate blade, 60-120 x 45-70 mm, upper smaller. Inflorescences laxly 6-20-flowered, 60-100 mm long; bracts narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, somewhat shorter than the ovary. Flowers c. 15 mm in diameter, sepals lime-green, petals pale mauve. Sepals subequal, reflexed, margins entire; median 5-6 x 2.5-3.0 mm; laterals lanceolate, acute, 7 x 4 mm. Petals spathulate, claws cylindrical, 5-7 mm long, blades transversely obovate, shallowly cal-carate, margins fimbriate, 6-7 mm in diameter.
